Distance learning is something that I quite enjoy. Some of my favorite distance learning can be heard through the radio. For example, when I cannot connect the bluetooth to my car I listen to the radio and set it on a trivia channel, and I never know the answers, but I like learning new information that I can apply to later conversations in my life. A very difficult distance learning aspect of my life hit during Covid-19. It was very hard for me to watch a zoom of my teacher and fully grasp what they were teaching. I like learning concepts in person and small portions of information through distance learning. When I am a teacher I would make sure all of my students are understanding topics and plan extra, optional, course time is they needed further help.      Open Educational Resources are a very big part of my learning style. If I am having trouble understanding a topic in class, I look to other resources that can enhance my understanding. A we...

When working on creating website I discovered skills that I did not even know were possible. I never realized how easy it was to create your own website. Design features made it extra easy to make this assignment that much easier and capable to do even with my little background in website design. One of the best features I learned about was that you could insert a working calendar into the website and it could hold everything that was coming up. This was so great to learn and I hope to use this again one day.  AI is something that is taking ver the world in today's day and age. I personally NEVER use AI and think that it can easily be taken advantage of. I understand when people have assignments due, and they want AI to help them and make sure they are on the right track, then that is understandable. But with this, come great power, and with this power students are often lead to cheat on assignments. This makes students work less because they have AI to rely on and this is ju...

Teacher websites are a tool that I didn't know were such a great tool until I got to high school. Teacher websites are a great way to get to know who is teaching your class before ever entering the room - to an extent. While researching this subject, I came across a teachers website and it had so many amazing things to view. Along with a "About Me" section of the website, it also had a daily schedule linked to allow families and students to stay updated on everything going on. This website was a wonderful introduction not only to the teacher but to the class as well. (Website linked below). https://www.gcsnc.com/domain/4268 In today's day and age, technology is everywhere. I plan to use technology in my classroom in a way that makes it easier for my students to learn and get their work accomplsihed. Some of the tools I would like to establish in my classroom is Google Drive. With Google Drive, students will be able to use google docs and google slides and keep it all...

This class has introduced me to the new resource of Diigo. I honestly do not have a clear cut decision made on if I like it or not yet just because I have not used it enough. It seems pretty easy use, I am just a little technologically challenged so any new website is difficult for me to navigate and get the hang of. I really like that whenever you go to post something there is a big blu plus sign, can't miss it. I also like how it allows you to react to comments and not just reply with a comment. I am not going to lie, I was not excited that we would have to post blogs in this class, but it has slowly become one of my favorite assignments to do. With blogging, I feel like I can truly just speak what's on my mind and not worry about if it "sounds smart enough", or if my teacher will like it. Blogging has helped me just write down my feeling on certain subjects and I am very thankful for that. I have learned that blogging is supposed to be a fun way to let other know ...

Twitter or X, is a social media tool that many people use in today's world. I will be completely honest and say that I personally do not use this form of social media, so it has not had an impact on my life. I can see how twitter can be a useful tool to aid learning if used correctly. Through this platform you can reach thousands of people who might be able to give input onto a certain topic or even do research on what other people have to say an ado research to follow up on what they are saying. If I were to ever use twitter in my future education career I would make sure it had a safety feature or even a feature that allowed my class to discuss with each other and share their thoughts safely. I get nervous incorporating social media into the classroom so I doubt I would ever do this with my students but who knows maybe twitter has a great way of being implemented into a classroom setting. The digital divide is a very real thing in the 21st century. Companies all over the world a...

While learning about the Florida Computer Science Standards, I chose to learn about the them in the grades k-2 specifically. The standard that stuck out to me was the one about communication and collaboration. This standards basically is what it sounds like, to help students communicate in a better manner and help students to collaborate with other more easily. As I work with kids younger than this age now I feel as though I am more than prepared to teach my kids how to interact with each other and with me as their teacher.  For this portion of the blog, I decided to choose the grade level of first, and teaching mathematics. When I clicked on these requirements, I was lead to a page where it gave me some great insight. Something I found was called a "Double Bubble Venn Diagram to Compare Math Concepts". This is set up as a normal Venn diagram where you put two separate subjects in two different bubbles and see what is similar between them and what's different. Using this...

Copyright and fair use is a big problem in today's society in the education system. As a teacher I think it would definitely be hard to walk this fine line. Personally, I think if I as a teacher am coming up with my one concepts and own lesson plans and my own thoughts, I would expect my students to be able to do the same thing. I would want my students to use what I provide for them and be able to form there own even deeper thoughts and expand on my thoughts. It is definitely a fine line but I think if there is anything to be learned, I would work with my students and help them to understand how to work the way I would like them too in a professional manner.  Technology is also something has taken over the world. Technology is being implemented into every aspect of our academic lives and it can honestly become distracting. Whenever I have an assignment due and I am going to look at to on my phone or even on my laptop, I always seem to get distracted by a text or a funny vide...
