Blog Five

 Twitter or X, is a social media tool that many people use in today's world. I will be completely honest and say that I personally do not use this form of social media, so it has not had an impact on my life. I can see how twitter can be a useful tool to aid learning if used correctly. Through this platform you can reach thousands of people who might be able to give input onto a certain topic or even do research on what other people have to say an ado research to follow up on what they are saying. If I were to ever use twitter in my future education career I would make sure it had a safety feature or even a feature that allowed my class to discuss with each other and share their thoughts safely. I get nervous incorporating social media into the classroom so I doubt I would ever do this with my students but who knows maybe twitter has a great way of being implemented into a classroom setting.

The digital divide is a very real thing in the 21st century. Companies all over the world are producing new electronics every year but they are also extremely expensive and not everyone is able to afford their own phone, computer, or tablet. This makes it hard for teachers to assign online work at home and it is not fair when they do without checking with all of the students first to make sure they have what they need to complete such an assignment. Thankfully, chromeboks have been being issued to students through schools to give everyone more of an equal chance to get things done while they are not in school. If I were a teacher I would give students time in class to finish online assignments and if they needed extra time or help because of the digital divide I would work with them to find a compromise. 

Academic software is all over the place in such a technology driven world. Something I would like for my students to use in our classroom is google docs/word. This will prepare them for the future and get them ready to get comfortable with this type of software. It would also make it easier for me to access their assignments when they were done with them. Another piece of academic software I think my students should use is Canva. This software could help students just become more comfortable with using a website like this and it could also allow for students to have fun creating new projects while they learn.

Microsoft word has made such an impact on how I and a big majority of people have learned to organize their school, work, and or personal writings. Throughout my school years k-12 (mostly middle through high school) my schools wanted us to use google docs to do all of our assignments. I personally think that MS Word is much easier to use and allows for more creativity when it comes to fonts, colors, and anything else you could think of. Blog Six

 This class has introduced me to the new resource of Diigo. I honestly do not have a clear cut decision made on if I like it or not yet just because I have not used it enough. It seems pretty easy use, I am just a little technologically challenged so any new website is difficult for me to navigate and get the hang of. I really like that whenever you go to post something there is a big blu plus sign, can't miss it. I also like how it allows you to react to comments and not just reply with a comment. I am not going to lie, I was not excited that we would have to post blogs in this class, but it has slowly become one of my favorite assignments to do. With blogging, I feel like I can truly just speak what's on my mind and not worry about if it "sounds smart enough", or if my teacher will like it.  Hello, My name is Tori Morris. I am a junior in college and plan on graduating next spring in 2025. I grew up in a family with a mother and father and one older brother who is two years older than me. I grew up being very close to my family and it has remained that way even though we have all grown and moved away from each other. I grew up playing sports, and involved in a lot of clubs throughout my k-12 life. These experiences made me realize that I am very interested in working with people when I have a full time job. I am currently pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with  two seperate minors in Education and Biology.
