This class has introduced me to the new resource of Diigo. I honestly do not have a clear cut decision made on if I like it or not yet just because I have not used it enough. It seems pretty easy use, I am just a little technologically challenged so any new website is difficult for me to navigate and get the hang of. I really like that whenever you go to post something there is a big blu plus sign, can't miss it. I also like how it allows you to react to comments and not just reply with a comment. I am not going to lie, I was not excited that we would have to post blogs in this class, but it has slowly become one of my favorite assignments to do. With blogging, I feel like I can truly just speak what's on my mind and not worry about if it "sounds smart enough", or if my teacher will like it. Blogging has helped me just write down my feeling on certain subjects and I am very thankful for that. I have learned that blogging is supposed to be a fun way to let other know ...

Twitter or X, is a social media tool that many people use in today's world. I will be completely honest and say that I personally do not use this form of social media, so it has not had an impact on my life. I can see how twitter can be a useful tool to aid learning if used correctly. Through this platform you can reach thousands of people who might be able to give input onto a certain topic or even do research on what other people have to say an ado research to follow up on what they are saying. If I were to ever use twitter in my future education career I would make sure it had a safety feature or even a feature that allowed my class to discuss with each other and share their thoughts safely. I get nervous incorporating social media into the classroom so I doubt I would ever do this with my students but who knows maybe twitter has a great way of being implemented into a classroom setting. The digital divide is a very real thing in the 21st century. Companies all over the world a...

While learning about the Florida Computer Science Standards, I chose to learn about the them in the grades k-2 specifically. The standard that stuck out to me was the one about communication and collaboration. This standards basically is what it sounds like, to help students communicate in a better manner and help students to collaborate with other more easily. As I work with kids younger than this age now I feel as though I am more than prepared to teach my kids how to interact with each other and with me as their teacher.  For this portion of the blog, I decided to choose the grade level of first, and teaching mathematics. When I clicked on these requirements, I was lead to a page where it gave me some great insight. Something I found was called a "Double Bubble Venn Diagram to Compare Math Concepts". This is set up as a normal Venn diagram where you put two separate subjects in two different bubbles and see what is similar between them and what's different. Using this...

Copyright and fair use is a big problem in today's society in the education system. As a teacher I think it would definitely be hard to walk this fine line. Personally, I think if I as a teacher am coming up with my one concepts and own lesson plans and my own thoughts, I would expect my students to be able to do the same thing. I would want my students to use what I provide for them and be able to form there own even deeper thoughts and expand on my thoughts. It is definitely a fine line but I think if there is anything to be learned, I would work with my students and help them to understand how to work the way I would like them too in a professional manner.  Technology is also something has taken over the world. Technology is being implemented into every aspect of our academic lives and it can honestly become distracting. Whenever I have an assignment due and I am going to look at to on my phone or even on my laptop, I always seem to get distracted by a text or a funny vide...
